Hey, ya’ll below are the steps on how to “age” paper.
Materials Used:
– Coffee grounds
– Water
– Paintbrush
– Paper towels
– Paper of your choosing*
– Heat gun**
[ *I ONLY USED NOTEBOOK PAPER BECAUSE THIS IS FROM A Commission I CREATED FOR A CLIENT. FEEL FREE TO USE A HEAVIER STOCK PAPER. **THIS IS NOT NECESSARY AND ONLY NEEDED TO DRY THE PAPER FASTER]
Step 1:
Lightly sprinkle coffee grounds onto the paper. While using a paintbrush gently saturate the page with water. Use small circular motions, with the paintbrush, move the coffee around to the desired areas of the paper.
Step 2:
Once finished with a layer of coffee grounds take a paper towel and lightly dab off excess water.
Step 3:
Repeat steps 1 & 2 until you have your desired saturation.
Step 4:
Then use a heat gun, or air dry your paper.
Step 5:
Once the paper is dry, lightly brush off any excess coffee grounds. For an added effect crumble up your paper to give more of a “worn out” look.
